Lake George RV Park Earns an “A” in Consumer Satisfaction Survey of Independent, Privately Owned Parks
September 2nd, 2010
Lake George, NY (PRWEB) January 15, 2009
Lake George RV Park announced it has been chosen as one of 21 campgrounds and RV resorts across the country, and the only one in New York State, to earn an all around “A” grade in the nation’s first consumer satisfaction survey of independent parks.
The Lake George RV Park, located at 74 State Rte 149 in Lake George, received an “A” grade in overall guest satisfaction for the year 2008 at an awards ceremony in Nashville TN hosted by the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds.
“Being recognized by our guests in this way is an honor that we are proud to have achieved,” said Dave King, owner of Lake George RV Park. “Their feedback and satisfaction is what has made our facility the best family resort in Lake George and the Adirondacks.” Lake George RV Park offers extensive amenities, including swimming pools, tennis courts, bike trials and professional entertainment at the French Mountain Playhouse.
Nearly 13,000 camping and RV enthusiasts participated in the 2008 online survey, which evaluated guest experiences at independent campgrounds and RV resorts affiliated with the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds. “Camping and RV enthusiasts didn’t hold back when it came to telling us which parks they liked and which ones needed improvements,” said Bob MacKinnon, president and CEO of GuestRated.com, the Murrieta, Calif.-based company that conducted the online survey. MacKinnon added that GuestRated.com provides guest satisfaction surveys for more than 4,000 parks affiliated with the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds, or roughly half of the nation’s private parks.
The consumer-based results of the online surveys will become a valuable tool for consumers who are looking for the best campgrounds and RV resorts in the nation, and provide park owners with feedback on how best to improve their accommodations and services.
Consumers are invited to submit their own reviews of private campgrounds and RV resorts they have recently visited by logging on to www.gocampingamerica.com and clicking on the ‘Review a Park’ tab. Survey results for many parks are posted on the GoCampingAmerica website. The GuestRated.com national online survey program was launched in February 2008 in collaboration with the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds.

RVParking.com
Menlo Park, CA (PRWEB) June 16, 2010
RVParking.com has recently launched the first free, comprehensive iPhone app for RV parks.
While other iPhone apps charge .99 or more and include only a highly limited number of destinations, the “RV Parks” iPhone app by RVParking.com is free and offers detailed information on more than 18,000 RV parks across the United States (including 1,018 Florida RV parks and 1,378 Texas RV parks).
This app automatically finds the nearest RV parks and includes detailed park information including power, pull-throughs and WiFi to name a few. Users can also search or browse parks by city or state. Once a user finds a park, they can call the RV park directly with a single click or get automated directions with their iPhone.
In addition, almost all data is stored locally on your iPhone so it’s still accessible even if you can’t get a signal.
“For years, RVers have carried around giant directories the size of the New York City phone books that are instantly outdated. Now, you can carry access park information, phone numbers and even user reviews in the palm of your hand,” says Erik Budde, CEO of RVParking.com.
To learn more or download the free iPhone app, go to: http://www.rvparking.com/iphone.

Tips on RVing in Mexico now available on the Internet
August 31st, 2010
(PRWEB) December 4, 2002
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Taking a recreational vehicle into Mexico can lead to many different paradises, but if you’re not prepared, the road can be paved with unnecessary trials and tribulations.
“Preparation is the key to safe recreational vehicle travel anywhere in North America but in Mexico it is vital to a safe and fun trip,” says Dorothy Bell who recently launched an interactive Mexican RV web site at www.ontheroadin.com which assists RV travelers going to Mexico.
The site goes well beyond giving tips on road travel in Mexico by allowing visitors to see hundreds of RV sites in Mexico. There are at least two pictures of each of the over 400 RV sites listed.
“Given the wide diversity on the standards and quality of RV sites in Mexico, from fabulous to disastrous, that’s very important,” Bell said.
RV travel is one of the fastest-growing recreational activities in North America and in Mexico RVers are discovering that they can realize the wonders of Mexico for a fraction of the cost of resorts.
Bell and her family have been traveling by RV to Mexico since 1988, first making the trek in a Volkswagen Westphalia, then a 28-foot-trailer. Most recently she circumnavigated the entire coastline of Mexico in a 28 foot-foot class-C recreational vehicle.
“We took pictures of virtually every RV site in Mexico and now people can look them up on the internet by name or by clicking on the various maps that show where every site is located,” Bell said.
The site also prepares the traveler to make RV travel in Mexico as enjoyable as it is in the rest of North America. It lists the requirements of documentation, insurance and driving tips, etc., as well as specific site and RV park recommendations.
“Getting a simple oil change in Mexico can be an adventure but when you can camp safely on miles and miles of pristine beaches and snorkel for scallops and clams while on the Baja, it makes the challenges of driving through a foreign country worthwhile,” Bell says.

Glasto Revellers Are Not So ‘Mad’ For The Mud
August 31st, 2010
Cambridge, UK (PRWEB) October 3, 2009
What gets snapped up quicker than a ticket to Glastonbury? A comfortable place to wash your muddy feet and rest your banging head!
With tickets for Glastonbury set to sell out in minutes this Sunday, bookings of the ‘pensioner’s favourite’ – the motor home – have shot through the roof as savvy revellers rush to secure some creature comforts.
Last year, more than 2,500 festival goers bagged a motor home to avoid the mud, rain and horrendous queues for over-flowing port-a-loos!
Motorholme.com, is now warning that motor homes are on the verge of selling out even before Glastonbury tickets go on sale later this week.
They asked 1,500 customers why they were opting to stay in a motor home, and found that 43 per cent wanted to avoid the port-a-loos, whilst 28 per cent wanted to make sure they didn’t have to queue for a shower. The third most popular answer was so that they could enjoy a nice cup of tea, with 19 per cent. Having a warm place to sleep and getting out of the mud took fourth and fifth place, with 7 and 3 per cent respectively.
MotorHolme’s company founder, Andrew Hughes, insists that the surge in demand is due to the emergence of Glastonbury’s more discerning audience, who are fed up with the rigours of camping and are now seeking a little bit of ‘luxury’.
He said: “Demand for motor homes at Glastonbury is exploding. After all, who wants to queue for hours to go to the toilet or take a shower?
“Motor homes sold out before the festival tickets did last year and people have been snapping them up faster than ever this time around.”
Once considered ‘for older people’, motorhoming has seen a massive boost in popularity over the past few years, with celebrity fans including Kate Moss, Katie Price, Jamie Oliver and Sarah Cox, who eschewed tepees at last year’s Glastonbury for a more sturdy stay in a motor home.
Damian Green, MP for Ashford and Shadow Minister for Immigration has already booked a motor home for next year’s Glastonbury. He said: “This year was our first venture to the festival in a motor home and it made for a much more comfortable and enjoyable experience than camping. So much so that we’ve already booked one for next year’s Glastonbury as they sell out like hot cakes.”
180,000 tickets to Glastonbury 2010 go on sale from 4 October. Headline acts won’t be confirmed until next year.
SURVEY RESULTS:
Motorholme.com asked 1,500 customers why they chose a motor home for Glastonbury, the results were as follows:
1. To avoid port-a-loos 43%
2. To avoid shower queues 28%
3. To make a their own tea 19%
4. To have a warm place to sleep 7%
5. To avoid the mud 3%
